Women bring home the points

Vikings women brought home the points this week to top off a sensational week for the club.

All senior teams were victorious this week but KUDOS go to the women who fought out a tough game with only 10 players for the majority of the game (due to injuries and work commitments, no red cards!!)

The ladies' team defence was strong led by Gemma (the captain) and Tneal, yes, PUN Intended (you need to be old to get it).
Both Ashlee and Savannah were our first line of defence and both did a stellar job keeping the home team at bay for the majority of the game. Those balls that did manage to sneak past all of our defenders were stopped dead by our goalie, Lauren, who also had a stellar game yesterday stopping every single shot.

The midfield was held by largely by Freya and Amy - who also stepped up and played wonderfully, feeding our forwards Salli, Lauren and Ainslee.

Lauren worked hard up front as our lone forward and also had to step back on many occasion to help out the midfield.

Both Ainslee and Salli played alternating roles of winger / striker and between them, they managed to bag 3 goals.
Lastly but by no means least. Kudos go to Tara for also stepping up with a severe ankle injury after half time to put 11 on the pitch. Tara is in her first season and is improving every game.

The win against Forest was a crucial win as it sees us maintain our tenuous grip on the top of the ladder with North breathing down the back of our necks, just 1 game behind us. (with 1 easy game to still to play, in hand)

JUNIOR PRE-SEASON TRAINING STARTING | U13 U14 U15

Commencing Monday 1 Feb 2021, pre season training will start for interested u13, u14 and u15 players. Sessions will be Monday and Wednesday 5.00-6.15pm and will transition to training proper over the coming weeks. Normal Covid-19 arrangements apply. PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR WATER BOTTLE.
